The biggest Margo news since I last posted is:
Margo is sleeping through the night!
It's only been about two weeks so I'm knocking on wood here as I type. She had been waking up once a night pretty consistently, and I would go in and feed her. Then Pete would get up with her at 5 and I'd sleep in until 6. A couple weeks ago, Pete and I decided we were finally ready to try to stop the night feedings. Our pediatrician had suggested that Pete go in instead of me. Well, turns out Margo was ready for this change too. It only took about five nights of that for her to figure out it's not worth it to wake up in the middle of the night if there's no milk to be had.
We've also cut down the time we spend with Margo when she's going to sleep. It's been a long time since we've rocked her to sleep - she's been falling asleep on her own for quite a while. But we used to stay in her room, singing to her until she fell asleep. Now we sing her a couple of songs and then say "I love you" and go, closing her door. She waves and says "bye" when we leave. She might mess around in her crib for a bit and might fuss a bit, but usually she goes to sleep pretty quickly.
What a champ! We're so proud of our Margo!
Margo has more words now. She says her own versions of Sally, more, ball, and balloon. Her new animal sounds include a lion, dog, pig, monkey, sheep, duck, and crow. She's into climbing and keeps us on our toes around the house. The other day she started the dishwasher!
